Ring Slings

Ring slings are a long piece of fabric attached to a pair of rings on one end.  The other end is called a tail, and is threaded through the rings to form a sling.  The ring sling is worn over one shoulder with the rings at the same place you would pin a corsage.  Rings on ring slings are special rings that have been tested to withstand the stresses of a heavy baby.  The ring sling is very quick to put on or set a child down, making it ideal for the diaper bag or to keep in a car.  An infant can be carried in the cradle hold, or upright.  Older children can be worm on the hip, on the front, or even on the back.  The open tail of the Maya Wrap makes a perfect nursing cover-up.  Once sling can fit many different sizes, as it is adjustable by pulling more thread through the rings.

Why a ring sling?

Ring slings are wonderful 'first' slings.   They are relatively easy to learn how to use, supportive, quick, convenient, cozy, pretty, practical, nurturing, and compact enough for diaper bag.

A great feature of the open tail is that it has a nice sized pocket that can hold a diaper, wipes, cell phone, and wallet.

What are mom's saying?

"All you need to go ANYWHERE is your baby and sling!" - Jen A.

What is the difference?

All the ring slings we carry are made of the highest quality!   Both have an open tail for easy adjusting, where you can adjust the top and bottom rail somewhat independently, and a large pocket for storing your keys, wallet, extra diaper or other extras you want to bring along.

The Maya Wrap is made from 100% woven cotton.   The fabric will soften up with use, yet is very supportive into the toddler years.   The shoulder is lightly padded, adding a bit of comfort on the shoulder.

ZoloWear Ring Slings are made from a sateen cotton that provides a luxurious sheen to the fabric.   Prints are one sided (meaning you will see a 'wrong' side to the fabric) while solids are the same color on both sides.   The shoulder is unpadded, but pleated to provide maximum comfort on your shoulders when the fabric is spread out cupping your shoulder.  These sizes tend to run larger than the Maya Wrap (meaning a Small in Zolowear is similar in size to a Medium in the Maya Wrap)

Shoulder type really comes down to personal preference.   It would be most ideal to try them both on to see which brand you find feels better.  Both slings can be worn one both shoulders.
